Application of Plate Heat Exchanger in Alcohol Industry

Plate heat exchangers have been widely used in the wine industry. With the improvement of customer process requirements, our equipment and technology continue to improve with the continuous improvement of the process, and it is not difficult to find that more and more alcohol, yogurt, and beverages Technology is emerging one after another, and the effect of the plate heat exchanger is also very good. Today we mainly introduce the application of the plate heat exchanger in the alcohol industry.

As a professional manufacturer of plate heat exchange equipment, we have made a simple analysis of the application in alcohol production to further promote the development of equipment in the wine industry. The specific working process of the alcohol industry is as follows:

1) Cool the vinasse centrifuge. Alcohol distiller's vinasse centrifugal liquor is a clear liquid separated from the distiller's grain discharged from the bottom of the crude distillation tower. The temperature is between 80 and 82. Due to the high temperature, the active enzyme activity is greatly lost. Therefore, it must be cooled by a plate heat exchanger first.

(2) Recovery of secondary steam from liquefied mash. The liquefied mash contains a large amount of secondary steam, which can be recovered by a plate heat exchanger and used for heating process water, secondary steam condensate in the evaporation section and vinasse centrifuge, which can effectively save energy.

(3) Cool the fermented mash. Traditional fermentation processes often use snake-shaped coolers to spray fermentation tanks for cooling, but the water consumption is large and maintenance is difficult. In recent years, some alcohol plants have adopted plate heat exchangers to cool the fermented mash during the fermentation process, and the effect is very good. And it is not easy to be blocked.

(4) Alcohol gas is condensed at the top of the distillation tower. In 1985, a set of plate heat exchangers was used in a distillation tower with an annual output of 5,000 tons of alcohol. It not only recovers waste heat, but also saves water. According to the actual measurement during production operation, the resistance of the plate heat exchanger is lower than that of the original shell and tube heat exchanger, and the top pressure is less than 0.03 MPa, so it does not affect the operation of the rectifier system.

(5) Cool 95% alcohol products. The cooling water consumption of the plate heat exchanger is only 1/3 of that of the coil heat exchanger, and the effect is remarkable. In addition, the plate heat exchanger occupies a small area.

(6) Cool the absolute ethanol product. In anhydrous alcohol manufacturers, plate stainless steel heat exchangers should be used to cool the finished alcohol.

(7) Use spiral plate heat exchanger instead of mash. Due to the high concentration, high viscosity and high solid content of the mash, a large plate heat exchanger with small pressure drop, wide spacing and not easy to be blocked should be designed according to the characteristics of the material when cooling the mash.
