How to disassemble the plate heat exchanger correctly

19-05-2021

What matters should be paid attention to when disassembling the plate heat exchanger?

1. When disassembling the loose bolts, first loosen the middle bolts and then to the four corners. At the beginning, 1 to 2 laps each time, then more often, repeat until it is completely loosened. It is required to measure the total thickness of the plate at the four corners during the relaxation process, the left and right error does not exceed 10mm, and the upper and lower error does not exceed 25mm.

2. Before disassembling the plate heat exchanger, use a steel ruler to measure the original thickness of the heat exchanger plate group, which should be measured and recorded at the upper, lower, left, and right corners of the equipment. This thickness should be restored as much as possible when reinstalling. If you increase or decrease the number of heat exchanger plates, you should first calculate the correct total thickness. The difference between the compacted thickness of the plate heat exchanger and the nominal value should be less than 1%. Plate heat exchangers are usually compressed into a whole with 6-12 bolts. When disassembling, these bolts should be tightened or loosened evenly and unevenly.

3. The fastening bolts of the plate heat exchanger are often equipped with small flat bearings, which are installed at the bottom of the compression nut to reduce the surface friction when the bolts are tightened, so that the fastening force of the bolts is appropriate. When tightening or loosening the bolt, the other end is controlled by the end cap and cannot be rolled. After the plate heat exchanger is disassembled, the heat exchanger plates should be hung on the heat exchanger frame. If they need to be removed and organized, they should be placed on a flat platform, not on uneven ground, and more than one piece should be replaced. The heat exchanger plates are stacked in a pile to avoid bending and deformation of the plates. Each heat exchanger plate should be hung back to its original position after finishing. Do not hit with a hammer. Hammering of the stainless steel sheet will cause changes in the internal structure and reduce its anti-rust performance. After checking that all heat exchanger plates and heat exchanger gaskets are normal, tighten the bolts and reset them.

4. When tightening the bolts, the square bolts should be tightened first, and then the middle bolts should be tightened, step by step, repeatedly. It is required that the asymmetry error of the total thickness of the heat exchanger plate group during the tightening process does not exceed the above-mentioned value. Assembling and disassembling bolts should use a wrench of a certain length to make the applied torque appropriate.
