Before using the plate heat exchanger, check whether the clamping bolts are loose and whether the clamping size meets the requirements of the installation drawing. If it does not meet the requirements, the bolts should be tightened according to the size specified in the installation drawing, and the surroundings should be even, so that the parallelism error of the two compression plates does not exceed 2mm.

Before use, carry out a hydraulic test on the hot side and the cold side at 1.25 times the operating pressure, and hold the pressure for 20 minutes. The plate heat exchanger gasket should be leak-free before it can be put into use. The test pressure and holding time can also be implemented according to the system regulations, but the test pressure must not exceed the nameplate test pressure value.

For plate heat exchangers used for steam water heat exchange, a steam inlet valve and a thermometer must be installed at the steam inlet. It is used to adjust the steam intake and monitor the steam temperature. In order, the steam condensate outlet should be vented and the condensed water should be collected in an open water storage tank so that it can be sent back to the steam boiler for reuse. The vent height should not be higher than the height of the condensate outlet of the heat exchanger. Steam condensate outlets must not be installed with traps or other components with high resistance, otherwise the condensed water will not be easily discharged, which will affect the amount of steam entering, and thus affect the heat exchange effect.

If the cold and heat medium contains debris or sediment, especially when the plate heat exchanger is used in occasions that cannot be removed and washed frequently, the cold and hot medium must be effectively filtered to ensure the normal operation of the plate heat exchanger and avoid clogging by sediment or debris. The passage of heat exchanger plates affects the use effect or causes accidents.

The piping system should be provided with an air release valve after it is opened, and the air in the plate heat exchanger should be discharged to prevent the air from staying in the plate heat exchanger and reduce the heat transfer effect.

The installation of cold and hot medium inlet and outlet pipes should be connected in strict accordance with the directions specified on the factory nameplate. Otherwise, it will affect the use effect of the plate heat exchanger or cause an accident.
