Replacement gaskets for plate heat exchangers

26-02-2021

The heat exchanger gasket is one of the key components of the plate heat exchanger. It mainly serves as a seal between the heat exchange plates. It not only seals the medium so that it does not leak to the external environment, but also prevents heat exchange. Intermixing between media. The application range of the plate heat exchanger is also largely limited by the heat exchanger sealing gasket. If these heat exchangers are gasketed and lose their due elasticity, the plate heat exchanger may not operate normally.

Due to the continuous expansion of the application field of plate heat exchangers, different media and processes have different requirements for temperature resistance, pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. It is obviously impossible to use a "universal" gasket to adapt to all situations, and heat exchanger gaskets of different materials should be used for different situations. If the gasket of the plate heat exchanger is in use, it should be replaced in time if it leaks, breaks, or ages.

Today we will learn how to replace the heat exchanger gasket.

1. When removing the used heat exchanger gasket, be careful not to make scratches in the gasket groove.

2. Clean the aging heat exchanger seals. According to different dirt, use acid and alkali for chemical cleaning. The surface of the cleaned heat exchanger parts will not be corroded by chemical media.

3. After chemical cleaning, use a high-pressure blowing device to clean the remaining chemical media on the surface of the detachable plate heat exchanger

4. Paste the clean new heat exchanger gasket on the board. The heat exchanger plate with the heat exchanger gasket should be placed in a flat, cool and ventilated place before it can be installed and used after it has dried naturally.

5. For the adhesive heat exchanger gasket, clean up the remaining materials, re-bond them with a blended adhesive, and clamp the reassembled detachable plate heat exchanger plate group in the fixture to make it sticky. The adhesive is cured and heated in a holding furnace to achieve a good bonding effect
