Heat exchanger process


The heat exchanger process refers to a set of parallel flow channels in the same flow direction of the medium in the heat exchanger, and the flow path refers to an intermediate flow channel composed of two adjacent plates in the heat exchanger. Generally, several flow paths are connected in parallel or in series to form different combinations of cold and hot medium channels.


The process combination should be calculated based on the heat transfer and fluid resistance of the heat exchanger, and determined that it meets the process conditions. Try to make the convective heat transfer coefficients in the cold and hot water channels equal or close to each other to obtain the best heat transfer effect. Although the flow rates between the plates of the heat exchanger are not equal, the calculations are based on the average flow rate in the heat transfer and fluid resistance calculations.
